Spectators: 8056 (Terracing: 6043, Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 160) Niels-Jan Reitsema made the kick off and thus started the match. Leon Vliet struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Laurens de Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hogeweg FC. Leon Vliet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurens de Freitas having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cadier defense, Ed Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laurens de Freitas. The Cadier fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laurens de Freitas should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnold Robbermond during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Arnold Robbermond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niels-Jan Reitsema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd minute Ed Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurens de Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niels-Jan Reitsema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hub Roelofsen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Cadier's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 30th match minute, Hogeweg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommie Reinders to maneuver through the defense. Laurens de Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Vliet in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cadier's Eric Dowie got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Leon Vliet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lukas Sundén made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Arnold Robbermond sent off a good shot on target. If Ed Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurens de Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Vliet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hub Roelofsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lukas Sundén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Niels-Jan Reitsema came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Cadier fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niels-Jan Reitsema couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ed Schmidt made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Leon Vliet could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Laurens de Freitas however easily saved by the left post. When Arnold Robbermond was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. In the 58th minute, Leon Vliet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Hogeweg FC booed when Cadier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hub Roelofsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th match minute, Cadier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Dowie to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ed Schmidt in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurens de Freitas saved Cadier from getting behind. Leon Vliet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurens de Freitas having to interfere. Leon Vliet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laurens de Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ed Schmidt in the 70th minute of the match. Hub Roelofsen might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lukas Sundén. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hub Roelofsen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 75th minute Ed Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurens de Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes Cadier got a freekick which was hit by Niels-Jan Reitsema.
