Jean-Louis Van Bever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Davus in the 16th minute of the match. KFC Cromvelde were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after KFC Paal-Tervant's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cosmin Contra took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Andries Vermeiren got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Freddy Tilens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Mathijs Rokeloos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Freddy Tilens. That made the score 2-1 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Mathijs Rokeloos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Cromvelde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. If Dé 武松 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dé 武松's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Freddy Tilens firmly grabbed it by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 64th minute Axel Davus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Louis Van Bever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KFC Cromvelde's Jean-Louis Van Bever proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save KFC Cromvelde from getting a goal against them.
