Spectators: 9201 (Terracing: 6902, Seating: 2116, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Traian Brăiloiu started the match with the kick off. In the 9th minute, Denis Aurelianu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Twan van Nistelrooij had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of James Novak. FC Carlsberg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Twan van Nistelrooij was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Viorel Neicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Leahu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Carlsberg defense, Twan van Nistelrooij kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of James Novak. The FC Carlsberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that James Novak should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Viorel Neicu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Carlsberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Viorel Neicu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Leahu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, FC Carlsberg's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Jordan came free, but James Novak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C. YKE were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after FC Carlsberg's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Duman Enginsoy took the corner. Twan van Nistelrooij made a great header on F.C. YKE's corner, it was just that FC Carlsberg's James Novak managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 42nd minute of the match F.C. YKE got a corner. FC Carlsberg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Duman Enginsoy ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on F.C. YKE's corner Duman Enginsoy fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and James Novak quite easily take care of the ball. In the 46th minute, Michael Jordan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wieslaw Marud who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Felix Leahu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Traian Brăiloiu in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck James Novak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Carlsberg's Adrían Addi was substituted for Aurelian Mirciu. Michael Jordan made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Traian Brăiloiu. In the 72nd minute Emanuel Petrulean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Leahu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Twan van Nistelrooij could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but James Novak made a huge save. Felix Leahu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrían Addi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Twan van Nistelrooij fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Novak having to interfere. With a little luck, FC Carlsberg's James Novak got control of the ball when Twan van Nistelrooij tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felix Leahu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavril Sichitiu in the 83rd minute of play.
