Ekber Merdan took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Novak. FC Carlsberg's James Novak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ekber Merdan in the 27th minute of play. The throw-in from Emanuel Petrulean in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by The Huns's Scott Martindale. Carl Booth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wieslaw Marud, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute FC Carlsberg were awarded a corner. Gavril Sichitiu went to the cornerflag to take it. Ekber Merdan scored 1-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of James Novak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Huns's Andre Huyterhoeven managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Henrique Casado in the 42 minute of the game.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ekber Merdan was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Ekber Merdan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but James Novak was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Ekber Merdan managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Huns's supporters rose to their feet, but Ekber Merdan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. James Novak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
