In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind -BZF- Barca de Buzau's goalkeeper Bogdan Ignătoiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 11th minute Martin Giuverdea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Booth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bogdan Ignătoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslaw Pazura in the 13th minute of the match. Radu Popan went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ekber Merdan in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogdan Ignătoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bogdan Ignătoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ekber Merdan went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by -BZF- Barca de Buzau's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andre Huyterhoeven was slow to take the kick. During this time The Huns's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of -BZF- Barca de Buzau's goalie and right to Stefan Stenquist. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Drăgănoiu in the 38th minute of play forced The Huns's goalkeeper Carl Booth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Ekber Merdan scored to the left of an out of position Bogdan Ignătoiu, making the score, 2-0.

The wind increased when Ekber Merdan made the kick off in the second half.
