Spectators: 7382 (Terracing: 5757, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Amisa Mallik got the match started through his kick off. Kanca Kishore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jagatkarna Anand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Lions's Kanca Kishore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alakaprabha Gill in the 7th minute of play. Anukasa Dwivedi hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, The Lions's Govinda Dutt got a free kick in the 10th minute. Kanca Kishore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alakaprabha Gill's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Abhyagni Marathe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Buddhapala Bhosale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Jagatkarna Anand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kanca Kishore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Amisa Mallik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amisa Mallik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But to his dismay, Amisa Mallik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Alakaprabha Gill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th play minute Anukasa Dwivedi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Buddhapala Bhosale. 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jagatkarna Anand to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Evergreen United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prem Kattaura to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of The Lions booed when Evergreen United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prem Kattaura didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 minutes of play, The Lions's Amisa Mallik made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buddhapala Bhosale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amisa Mallik went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Evergreen United's Buddhapala Bhosale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amisa Mallik in the 72nd minute of play.
