The throw-in from Erubiel Nabar in the 4th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Begu Ganjang's Arif Nihat Tekin. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th minute Anak Selby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's Angelo Borges sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tạ I narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anak Selby in the 15th minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angelo Borges's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tạ I read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. The corner ended in Erubiel Nabar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Begu Ganjang's Tạ I did a great save. Ray Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anak Selby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erubiel Nabar made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Begu Ganjang's Ponaryo Mangindaan. PHOENIX SC's Ray Clemence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ponaryo Mangindaan in the 28th minute of play. Anak Selby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ray Clemence read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Anak Selby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Clemence. PHOENIX SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anak Selby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Begu Ganjang's Tạ I proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Begu Ganjang from getting a goal against them. Tạ I took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Angelo Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tạ I was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Begu Ganjang getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Otto Kartasasmita hit a great ball.

51 minutes into the game, Begu Ganjang's Anak Selby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ray Clemence made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Borges in the 58th minute of play forced Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anak Selby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Ray Clemence made a huge save. Tạ I didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelo Borges went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Begu Ganjang made a substitution. Fotis Perivolakos replaced Otto Kartasasmita. Begu Ganjang's David Trezeguet was substituted for Anak Selby. After some careless play in the PHOENIX SC defense, David Trezeguet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ray Clemence. The PHOENIX SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ray Clemence should have stopped the shot. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Delmar Piearres hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Manuel Aurelianu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Begu Ganjang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Aurelianu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Delmar Piearres hit a great ball. Ray Clemence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Aurelianu in the 95th minute of play. The PHOENIX SC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Begu Ganjang's performance. The match ended with a win for Begu Ganjang.
