The corner led to PHOENIX SC's Attila Toldi getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Ray Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warsidi Oktavianus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of PHOENIX SC booed when SAPI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Hansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronan McCunn made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, SAPI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tito Rangkuti to maneuver through the defense. Alex Morais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronan McCunn's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Dandung Krishna made in the 68th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by PHOENIX SC's Dé 孙权. In the 71st minute of the game Dandung Krishna made a throw-in which Imam Sarwono played forward. With an all-out effort, SAPI FC's Ray Clemence threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bengt-Arne Hansson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 74 minutes SAPI FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hanung Sephtianda who took care of the corner kick. PHOENIX SC's Dé 孙权 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alex Morais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 79 minutes into the match, SAPI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Borges came free, but Alex Morais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by SAPI FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hanung Sephtianda was slow to take the kick. During this time PHOENIX SC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to PHOENIX SC's Haji Bandell getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SAPI FC's goalkeeper Alex Morais, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ray Clemence made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Bengt-Arne Hansson sent off a good shot on target. Alex Morais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronan McCunn in the 86th minute of play. Ray Clemence didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt-Arne Hansson went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind SAPI FC's goalkeeper Alex Morais, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
